How do I get to the Ice House?
Via Highway 417 (runs east-west through the centre of the City of Ottawa)
- Exit Highway 417 (also called the “Queensway”) at Bronson Avenue.
- Follow Bronson Avenue south approximately 2 Km.
- The campus entrance will be on the right at the intersection of Bronson and Sunnyside Avenue.
- Follow University Drive to Raven Road (2nd stop sign), turn left and go to Parking Lot 3 (P3).
- Please use the pay station if you do not have a valid Carleton University pass for Lot 3.
Via Highway 416
- Highway 416 connects Highway 401 (interchange near Prescott, Ontario) to Highway 417.
- Follow Highway 416 to Highway 417 (east).
- Follow Highway 417 (the “Queensway”) and exit at Bronson Avenue.
- Follow Bronson Avenue south approximately 2 Km.
- The campus entrance will be on the right at the intersection of Bronson and Sunnyside Avenue.
- Please use the pay station if you do not have a valid Carleton University parking pass for Lot 3 (P3).

Is the Ice House accessible by public transportation?
Is parking free at the Ice House?
During the week (Monday to Friday) Ice House clients need to display a parking permit which can be obtained from their ice contract holder. Anyone who has purchased ice time at the Ice House will be provided a parking pass (including officials and timekeepers). Parking lot 3 is the designated parking lot for the Ice House. To locate P3 see campus map. Spectators and visitors are required to pay for parking.
Effective on Saturday, July 2nd, 2011, Parking Services will be implementing a fee structure for weekend parking on campus. The cost for parking in any parking area on campus will be $2.00 flat fee for the entire day (Saturday or Sunday) 7am to 10:30 pm. Free parking remains in place only on recognized University Holidays. Persons parking on campus on weekends must obtain a Pay & Display stub from any Pay & Display machine on campus or register a parking session with iParked.ca. Permit holders including members that have procured a permit through Athletics are exempt from weekend parking fees only if parked in their designated permit area – permit holders parking outside their regular permit parking area on weekends must pay the $2.00 flat rate fee per day.
Is there a restaurant?
There is currently no restaurant in the Ice House, however we do have a number of vending machines. There is also a Tim Horton’s in the Alumni Hall and Sports Centre, which is directly adjacent to the Ice House.
How do I find out if there is ice available to rent?

I have two games at the Ice House this weekend. Is there somewhere in the facility where I can leave my equipment?
Unfortunately, the Ice House does not provide such a service at this time.
Does Carleton have a varsity hockey program?
Carleton has both a men’s and women’s varsity hockey program. The women compete in the RSEQ, the Quebec division of the Canadian Interuniversity Sport. The men’s varsity hockey team participates in the OUA, the Ontario division of Canadian Interuniversity Sport.
