With 120+ classes offered this winter, Carleton is the perfect place to escape those frosty days, while we help you get fit and feel great.</p>
<p>New this year is our<strong> SUPER FIT</strong> class, an alternative approach to fitness, free from the constraints of traditional gym space, machinery and routines. In 45 short and sweet minutes, your trainers will take you through a high intensity, full-body workout. Whether you are trying to get lean or build muscle, a high-performance athlete or a beginner, this unique program can be tailored to you.</p>
<p>If you’re looking for something to work on your core strength and coordination then join our new <strong>Pilates with Small Apparatus</strong> class that combines classic Pilates principles with the additional challenge of using Magic Circles and foam rollers.</p>
<p><strong>Group Cycling</strong> is another great way to shed the holiday pounds and stay in shape for spring biking. Spinning is a great non-weight bearing exercise that offers high calorie burning potential. From beginners to the more experienced cyclists, we have a class to suit your needs.</p>
<p>Calling all the baby boomers out there! Carleton offers a <strong>Boomer Fitness</strong> class. As our bodies age, we lose muscle tissue and gain body fat. This class combines lectures with exercise sessions to teach you how to lift weights safely and effectively so that you can prevent tissue decline and improve your mobility.</p>
<p>Boomers can also get their fill of cardio, strengthening and stretching exercises with Carleton’s <strong>Fifties Plus Fitness</strong> and <strong>Stretch and Strength for Mature Adults</strong> classes.</p>
<p>Or why not try the all new<strong> Zumba Gold</strong> class. With zesty Latin music, easy-to-follow moves and a party-like atmosphere, this class is aimed to suit the needs of the active Boomer. If you are looking for camaraderie, excitement and fitness as a regular part of your weekly schedule, Zumba Gold is the perfect fit.</p>
<p>Our 50-metre pool has several programs that will help you get fit and stay warm during the winter months. <strong>Swimnastics</strong> provides older adults with three low-impact deep water workouts each week.  Our members only <strong>Masters Swimming </strong>program provides swimmers with various levels of experience and speed, quality workouts and stoke correction from world class coaches. If you aren’t ready for Masters, try our <strong>Adult Learn to Swim</strong> program or make arrangements for some <strong>Private or Semi-Private swim lessons</strong>.</p>

<p>Sample one of our 120+ classes this winter to help you beat those winter blues!  New this year we have <strong>SUPER FIT</strong>, a class lead by instructors who will put you through your paces!  In 45 short and sweet minutes you will work up an amazing sweat and feel your body gain in strength and endurance from the first class on.  This unique class can be tailored to beginners and experts alike, so everyone can experience 12 weeks of challenging (aka fun) total body fitness!</p>
<p>Monday 7-7:45pm  $93.75 (students), $125 (adults)</p>
<p>Wednesday 5-5:45pm  $93.75 (students), $125 (adults)</p>
<p>If you’re looking for something to work on your core strength and coordination then another new addition to the Carleton Fitness Program family is the <strong>Pilates with Small Apparatus</strong> class.  This class combines the principles of Pilates to strengthen the whole body, mind and spirit with the additional challenge of using various small pieces of equipment.  Over the period of 12 weeks you will get the chance to try different equipment in each class.  So come join us and see what we have hidden in our fitness toy chest!</p>

<p>Start off on the right foot and reach your fitness goals the right way by giving our <strong>Personal Training Services</strong> a try.  Our trainers work with your own fitness and skill level and tailor a program unique to your specific needs.  Not interested in going it alone, we do couple training sessions as well.  So grab your new workout buddy and give it a try!</p>
