Deferred Exams

For more information about deferral procedures and applications, please visit the Registrar’s Office.

Applications for examination deferrals must be made in accordance with rules and regulations published in section 2.5 of the Undergraduate Calendar which includes obtaining a medical certificate dated no later than one working day after the examination or other appropriate documentation to support the deferral request. The deferral application must be submitted with 5 working days of the original final exam.

If you become ill or receive word of a domestic emergency during an examination, hand in your answer books at once to a invigilator and request that your examination be cancelled. In addition to appropriate supporting documentation, a “Cancellation of Centrally Scheduled Exam” form completed at the exam site is required in order to submit a petition to the Registar’s Office to explain the circumstances. In the case of illness, arrange immediately for a medical examination so that you will have a medical certificate to support your petition request.

For more information, please see Rules and Procedures for Writing Examinations.
