How much is too much? iDrink Responsibly at CU
All too often, people don’t realize when they need to stop drinking until it is too late. A big part of alcohol awareness is being able to recognize how much you drink and the ways it affects your social and cognitive functions.
If you are going to consume alcohol, Carleton University encourages safe drinking. This means having a plan to get home, keeping an eye on your drink at all times, avoiding drinking games, and consuming low-alcohol content beverages (e.g., light beer).
A great way to assess your current drinking practices and inform yourself about how alcohol affects your body is Carleton’s Electronic Check-Up tool (e-chug). The e-Chug is anonymous, fun and easy to use, and provides you with useful information about alcohol and your individual use of it.
