If you haven’t already spotted them in their Carleton red t-shirts and benefited from their expertise, be on the lookout for Learning Support Services staff who are out and around campus (residence commons, athletics, Loeb, and Tory) throughout the term.

The helpful staff can help you connect with the various academic support resources available through SASC and have plenty of “top 10 tips” as well as other information about all of LSS’ programs and services.

Carleton Sexual Assault Awareness Events February 13 & 15, 2012

The Department of Equity Services, the Pauline Jewett Institute of Women’s and Gender Studies, representatives from the Coalition for a Carleton Sexual Assault Centre and representatives from the wider university community invite you to attend Carleton’s Sexual Assault Awareness Events.

On February 13th from 10-2pm there will be an Information Fair in the Atrium that will include t-shirt painting, food, prizes and entertainment performed by The Recipe (formerly the Capital Poetry Collective).

On February 15th in Dunton 2017 at 7pm there will be a film screening of “The Purity Myth – the virginity movement’s war against women” followed by a facilitated discussion.

Department of Housing Summer Program Assistant

We are currently hiring for our Summer Program Assistant positions. The deadline for completed applications is Tuesday February 14, 2012 at 12 p.m. A complete application includes the application form, answers to the essay questions and an updated resume with references.

Applications are to be submitted to Natalie Allan through the Department of Housing and Conference Services at 261 Stormont House. Successful applicants will be contacted for an interview, which includes presenting a program to the hiring board that you wish to implement should you be selected. Presentations should include multimedia and a handout.

CU Unplugged Student Concert Series

Come out and enjoy CU Unplugged, a relaxing student concert in Rooster’s Coffeehouse. Enjoy music, the chance to win prizes, as well as complimentary tea for everyone the entire evening on February 9 beginning at 9:30 p.m.

Performers can sign-up in the Student Experience Office located at 430 Tory Building.

With up to 12 different performances by your peers lined up, ranging from singing to acoustic guitars to rap, the evening will certainly to be blast.

Applications are now being accepted for a variety of roles for CUSA/RRRA/SEO Fall Orientation Week. Fall Orientation is a one week program at the beginning of the fall semester for new students, focusing on the holistic integration into the Carleton Community through social, academic and cultural events

Fall Orientation Volunteers will have the opportunity to get involved in student life on campus, meet a new and diverse group of people and assist with the transition process into university for new students.

This is it, Ravens! 250+ contestants have been vying for positioning in the 10 of our QRazy For Free Tuition yearlong competition for a chance to walk away with FREE Tuition at Saturday’s 3pm men’s hockey game vs. Concordia (not to mention, this is the men’s hockey’s team’s last regular season matchup and a very important one at that in terms of playoff positioning). Come catch this on and off-ice decisive affair in what should be the best-attended hockey game of the season.

Visit the fourth floor of the University Centre from Monday, February 6 to Wednesday February 8, to vote for your favorite photos amongst close to 450 photographs submitted by members of the Carleton community sharing their experiences abroad. The winners of the competition will be announced on Thursday, February 9, at 3:00 p.m., at the exhibit.
